Mrs. Dardess was a resident of Sheffield for over fifty six years and was a founder of the Shoals String School and Shoals Symphony Orchestra. She was a published composer with numerous compositions for Orchestra and Chorus and served as choir director at First Presbyterian, Sheffield for more than a decade.
