Data about the life of the work:
Frieda Haliburton was a long time member of the alto section of Richard Eaton Singers in Edmonton. When she passed away, Canadian poet E.D. (Ted) Blodgett wrote a lovely elegiac poem in her honour, with both French and English texts. This poem was distributed and read to those attending Frieda's memorial service. and her husband Brian then decided to commission Edmonton composer John Estacio to set this beautiful text as a choral work for the Eaton Singers. It was premiered at the Winspear Centre for Music in Fall 2012, and performed by the choir on its Germany tour in July 2013.
