Data about the life of the work:
Wondrous Love exemplifies one of the simpplest and most powerful combinations of text and music for the Easter litergy using the American Folk Hymn "Wondrous Love". The opening a capella verses are taken straight from "The Southern Harmony" with its hallmark of parallel fourths and fifths and plenty of raw energy. Inspired by the words :And when from death I'm free, I'll sing on, I'll sing on", "wondrous Love' ends with a majestic flourish.
