Data about the life of the work: This is the first of eight anthems Boyce composed for the Coronation of George III on 22 September 1761. Boyce inscribed at the top of the anthem "First Anthem." On the Queen's entrance in the West door of the Abbey', and it was sung at the West door by the choir of Westminster Abbey.
