Data about the life of the work:
African Dawn is a short set of songs, dealing with typical early morning activities seen through the eyes of a child (such as waking up reluctantly, washing with entusiasm because one is told to and wishing everyone a good morning, since that is one expects). It is an African music for non-african children set in such a way that they can relate to it and also learn from it.!It was commissioned by the Jakaranda Kinderkoor Pretoria under the direction of Riekie van Aswegen.!May the children's singins create the harmmony for which we are yearning.
