Durch die rußische Revolutions 1905 und 1917 war dieses Lied oft gesungen. Herr Scherchen war ins Rußische Gefängnis und hat die Wörter auf Deutsch übersetzt. Nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg, die Deutsche Arbeiters-Bewegung hat das Lied adoptieren lassen.

During the Russian Revolutions of 1905 and 1917, this song was sung often. The German conductor Hermann Scherchen was a Russian POW during World War 1, and he translated the words and brought it back to Germany after the war. After the Second World War, this song was adopted by the German worker movement.
