The Starry Banner |
Now may our starry Banner, Be through our land unfurled, And may the shout of LIBERTY, Re-echo through the world; Till every land and nation, On home and foreign coast, Again our Banner honor, And we of it may boast. | 2. What though th' embattled legions, Of trait'rous mobs combine, The Stars throughout our regions, Shall soon in splendor shine; Our Banner all victorious, Forever shall sail on, And traitors much degraded Shall own its influence strong. | 3. Yes! it shall sail forever Honored by all lands, Its love, its light, its favour, Touched by no traitors hands, Will waken patriotic fires, That tremble in each breast, And long we'll see our stars and stripes, By God and mankind blest. |
